The Kano State Fire Service reported multiple fatalities across the state on Thursday from three separate incidents. The tragedies included a deadly house fire and two different well accidents that claimed several lives, including three men in a failed rescue.
In one case, a man, his son, and a would-be rescuer all died after getting trapped inside a well. Officials have since warned residents to avoid entering wells during emergencies, calling such attempts dangerously fatal.
