US lawyer Mark S Zuckerberg has sued Meta, alleging repeated wrongful account suspensions cost him thousands in lost business.
A US lawyer named Mark Zuckerberg is suing Meta, claiming Facebook repeatedly disabled his account for “impersonating a celebrity.” The attorney, Mark S Zuckerberg, told WTHR-TV that his profile had been banned five times in eight years, costing him thousands in lost business despite spending over £8,000 on advertising.
“It’s not funny. Not when they take my money,” he said, accusing Meta of breach of contract. “It’s like buying a billboard on the side of the highway, paying the people for the billboard and then they come and put a giant blanket over it.”
Zuckerberg said he submitted ID, credit cards and multiple photos to verify his identity but was still flagged for violating Meta’s authentic-name policy.
In response, Meta admitted error, stating: “We appreciate Mr Zuckerberg’s continued patience on this issue and are working to try and prevent this from happening in the future.”
