President Donald Trump was informed in May that his name appears multiple times in documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, senior administration officials confirmed.
Attorney General Pam Bondi and her deputy notified Trump during a meeting at the White House, after Justice Department officials reviewed what Bondi reportedly described as a “truckload” of Epstein-related files. According to the officials, the documents include references to many other high-profile individuals as well.
The presence of names in the files is not considered an indication of criminal behavior. Officials emphasized that “being mentioned in the records isn’t a sign of wrongdoing.”
Bondi also advised the president during the meeting that the Justice Department had decided against publicly releasing additional documents connected to Epstein. This decision, she explained, was based on concerns over the inclusion of child pornography in the files and the need to protect the identities and safety of victims.
The Justice Department continues to handle the sensitive materials with caution as part of its ongoing review process.
