With Nigeria aiming to strengthen the Super Eagles, attention has turned to ten foreign-based footballers eligible to represent the country, despite their youth ties with other nations.
1. Lesley Ugochukwu, 21, plays for Chelsea and has featured for France’s youth sides but remains eligible for Nigeria.
2. Ethan Nwaneri, 18, the youngest Premier League debutant, has represented England at youth level. “It begs the question of whether the young Englishman would switch to the Super Eagles,” the report noted.
3. Justin Njinmah, 24, a Werder Bremen forward, has never played for any national side.
4. Noah Atubolu, Freiburg’s 23-year-old goalkeeper, features the Nigerian flag on his gloves despite playing for Germany’s youth teams.
5. Luca Koleosho, Burnley winger, can represent four countries, including Nigeria.
6. Nnamdi Collins, 20, currently with Eintracht Frankfurt, has German youth caps.
7. Carney Chukwuemeka, 20, plays for Chelsea and is eligible for Austria, England, and Nigeria.
8. Samuel Edozie, 22, of Southampton, has English youth experience.
9. Kevin Martins, son of Obafemi Martins, plays for Monza.
10. Tosin Adarabioyo, Chelsea defender, is uncapped at senior level.
