Djokovic reaches Geneva Open final, eyes 100th career title

The world No. 6, who turned 38 on Thursday, fired 11 aces and 34 winners in the two-hour, 15-minute match. He now faces Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz in Saturday’s final.

Novak Djokovic moved a step closer to his 100th tour-level title after defeating Britain’s Cameron Norrie 6-4, 6-7(6), 6-1 in the Geneva Open semi-finals on Friday.

The world No. 6, who turned 38 on Thursday, fired 11 aces and 34 winners in the two-hour, 15-minute match. He now faces Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz in Saturday’s final, holding a 7-0 record against him.

“It was the toughest match of the tournament for me so far,” Djokovic said. “But I’m really glad how I regrouped in the third and played the best set of the tournament.”

Djokovic is targeting a fourth French Open title, despite recent struggles following injury in January’s Australian Open semi-final.
