British police arrested U.S. singer Chris Brown on Thursday in connection with an alleged assault at a London nightclub in 2023, according to the Sun newspaper.
Brown, 36, was detained at a hotel in Manchester, where he had arrived the previous day. The arrest relates to an alleged bottle attack against a music producer at the Tape nightclub in central London on February 19, 2023.
London’s Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest of a 36-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm but did not name Brown. “He has been taken into custody where he remains,” a spokesperson said. Representatives for Brown could not immediately be reached for comment.
The R&B star is scheduled to start a global tour next month, with stops in Manchester and other UK cities.
