Beijing has also requested that Chinese carriers halt any purchases of aircraft-related equipment and parts from US companies
China has instructed its airlines to stop accepting Boeing aircraft deliveries in response to recent US trade measures, escalating the ongoing trade war. The move comes after the Trump administration imposed tariffs of up to 145% on Chinese imports, prompting Beijing to retaliate with 125% duties on American goods, including aircraft.
Sources told Bloomberg that Chinese carriers were also told to suspend purchases of US aircraft parts. The tariffs would more than double Boeing jet costs, forcing Beijing to consider support measures for affected airlines. The restrictions place Boeing in a challenging position amid growing US-China trade tensions.
