A federal judge on Monday halted the Trump administration’s attempt to revoke legal status for over 530,000 migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela who entered under Biden’s CHNV parole program. Judge Indira Talwani ruled the government must conduct individualized reviews before terminating protections, stating: “The Termination of Parole Processes…is hereby STAYED pending further court order.”
Obama-appointed Judge Talwani blocked mass revocation of work permits for CHNV program beneficiaries, requiring case-by-case evaluations. The order preserves protections for migrants who arrived under Biden’s humanitarian parole initiative until individual reviews occur.
