President Donald Trump announced a major oil deal granting the U.S. majority control over Venezuela’s 65 billion barrels of proven petroleum reserves. The agreement, hailed as “the biggest oil deal in world history,” is expected to inject nearly $100 billion in private investment into Venezuela.
This comes after the U.S. ousted former ruler Nicolas Maduro. Interim leader Delcy Rodriguez confirmed the “historic agreement,” projecting over $100 billion in investment and significant tax revenue for Venezuela.
