Street-pop singer Portable was disqualified in his boxing rematch against Charles Okocha on Friday after walking out of the ring before the opening round ended.
Portable Disqualified After Ring Walkout
Punch reports that street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, lost his celebrity boxing rematch against Nollywood actor Charles Okocha by disqualification after storming out of the ring before the first round wrapped up.
The bout, dubbed “Unfinished Business,” was held at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, and billed as a rematch of their controversial first fight, which Okocha had insisted was wrongly awarded to Portable.
Portable appeared to be dominating before the contest turned into a wrestling-like scuffle, forcing the referee to intervene. The bell rang to end the round as security moved in to restore order.
Amid the chaos, Portable stormed out before officials could resume the fight, drawing boos from spectators. Though persuaded to return, he was disqualified, handing Okocha the win.
