A renowned British climber, formerly of special forces, has died after an avalanche on Broad Peak in Pakistan. Nirmal ‘Nims’ Purja was leading a 10-person team when the disaster struck. Sadly, none of the expedition members survived, as confirmed by the Alpine Club of Pakistan.
Elite Exped, a company co-founded by Purja, confirmed his death and that of other team members. The expedition was on the 8,051m Broad Peak when the avalanche hit.
