Nigeria’s electricity distribution companies collected N203.61 billion from consumers in April, achieving an 80.66 per cent collection efficiency, according to NERC.
DisCos rake in N203.6bn
Electricity Distribution Companies pulled in N203.61 billion from consumers in April, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission’s latest Commercial Performance Factsheet shows.
According to a report by The PUNCH, the 11 DisCos collected N203.61 billion out of total billings of N252.43 billion, putting collection efficiency at 80.66 per cent, up 1.07 percentage points from March. DisCos received electricity worth N302.96 billion and billed customers N252.43 billion, with billing efficiency at 83.32 per cent, a slight dip of 0.57 percentage point month-on-month.
NERC said industry revenue recovery efficiency hit 82.11 per cent. Eko DisCo topped the chart with 102.09 per cent recovery efficiency, trailed by Abuja DisCo at 89.77 per cent and Ikeja DisCo at 88.89 per cent.
