Pastor Enoch Adeboye defended President Bola Tinubu against criticism over insecurity, while urging tougher action against those financing terrorism.
Pastor Enoch Adeboye is coming to President Bola Tinubu’s defence. According to Daily Post, the RCCG General Overseer said Tinubu had fulfilled his responsibility by issuing directives to the military and shouldn’t be expected to personally lead combat operations, speaking at the US-Nigeria Faith Heroes Award Gala in Washington, D.C.
Adeboye compared Tinubu’s role to US President Donald Trump’s, noting that commanders-in-chief give orders rather than fight on the battlefield. He acknowledged, however, that terrorism and kidnapping have spread beyond northern Nigeria into the South.
The cleric revealed he had urged Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu to give military commanders a 90-day ultimatum to defeat terrorism or resign. He also called for decisive action against alleged terror financiers, including businessmen and politicians, and urged international support for Nigeria’s anti-terror efforts.
