A Fulani man from Bani community in Kwara State has issued a direct video threat to Yoruba nation agitator Sunday Igboho, warning the activist he would not leave the community alive if he attempted to expel Fulani residents, while defending his people as legitimate miners — not bandits
The tension between Sunday Igboho and Fulani communities has a new, explosive chapter — and this time it’s on video.
A Fulani man from Bani in Kaiama Local Government Area, Kwara State, has issued a chilling direct threat to the Yoruba activist in a video obtained by SaharaReporters, speaking in Yoruba from what appeared to be a bushy location while seated on a motorcycle.
His message was blunt and unambiguous.
“If you dare set foot in Bani, you will not go home safely, I swear to God,” he warned. “Bani is not like Igangan. Once you dare come to Igbeti and dare to enter Bani, you will not go home safely.”
The man accused Igboho of invoking the name of Bani’s traditional ruler — something he called deeply disrespectful — while defending his community against banditry allegations with equal ferocity.
“We Fulani in Bani are not bandits. Call Yoruba people in Bani and ask them whether the Fulani in Bani are bandits,” he said, pointing to mining as the community’s legitimate livelihood.
Then came the taunt. Rather than fear Igboho’s arrival, the man said Bani would fund it. “We will send you transport money to come over. Are you a soldier or what? We Fulani from Bani are not scared of you.”
His parting shot? “You are killing fake Fulani; you cannot kill original Fulani.”
