U.S. Indicts 17 Iranians for Cyber Theft. The Department of Justice has charged 17 Iranians over a massive cyber theft operation. They allegedly infiltrated 144 U.S. universities, 178 foreign universities, numerous companies, and government agencies between 2013 and 2017. Prosecutors say over 31 terabytes of data, including intellectual property and emails, were stolen. This campaign was reportedly on behalf of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
