Supreme Court Fines Lawyer N50 Million, Bars Him From Courts
A lawyer, S.M. Danyaro, has been fined N50 million by the Supreme Court and barred from all courts until compliance with directives over an “abusive” filing. The court deemed the application vexatious and irresponsible.
This ruling stems from a dispute over the Emir of Gwandu stool, where the Supreme Court had previously nullified a lower court’s decision reinstating Al-Mustapha Jokolo. The court emphasized adherence to legal procedures, deeming Danyaro’s actions a gross abuse of process and professional misconduct.
