Strike Rights: National Laws Rule
NECA declares strike rights are bound by domestic laws, not solely ICJ advisory opinions. DG Adewale-Smatt Oyerinde noted in Lagos that while the ICJ acknowledged strike rights under ILO Convention No. 87, it affirmed they remain subject to national labor frameworks. This means Nigeria maintains sovereignty over industrial action modalities.
