A Federal High Court in Abuja has struck out a suit seeking INEC’s recognition of the Kabiru Turaki-led interim PDP leadership, ruling the plaintiffs lacked legal standing.

Court Strikes Out Suit Over Turaki-Led PDP

Another blow for the Turaki camp. A Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday struck out a suit seeking to compel INEC to recognise and publish the Kabiru Turaki-led interim National Working Committee of the PDP, according to Punch. Justice Salim Ibrahim ruled that the plaintiffs, led by PDP Board of Trustees Chairman Senator Adolphus Wabara, lacked the legal standing to bring the suit, striking it out for want of jurisdiction. The court upheld INEC’s preliminary objection and sustained similar objections from parties seeking to be joined in the case. Justice Ibrahim found the plaintiffs failed to prove INEC had recognised the interim NWC or that they had authority to sue on the party’s behalf.
