Suspected bandits abducted six travellers near Makurdi in Benue State after intercepting their vehicle, with kidnappers reportedly demanding a N100 million ransom.
At least six travellers were feared abducted by suspected bandits in the early hours of Tuesday along the Naka–Makurdi road in Benue State after their vehicle was intercepted at Kula village near Makurdi, with one passenger reportedly escaping. A relative of one of the victims said the seven travellers had departed from Ilorin and spent the night in Ankpa before resuming their journey, adding, “One passenger managed to escape, while the remaining six — three men and three women — were taken away by the kidnappers,” who allegedly demanded a N100 million ransom, while local officials confirmed the incident though police said they had yet to receive an official report.
