Tinubu Dissolves PIC, Says Committee No Longer Justified

The PIC has officially been shut down. Per Tribune Online, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved the immediate dissolution of the committee, which oversaw the sale and lease of Federal Government properties since 2000.

A statement by Special Adviser Bayo Onanuga said all related matters will now be coordinated by Attorney-General Lateef Fagbemi, with the mandate backdated to November 5, 2025. Onanuga explained that the PIC’s activities had “extended beyond its original mandate,” triggering multiple lawsuits nationwide.

The committee was set up under ex-President Obasanjo to manage federal asset privatisation. The statement also directed former PIC secretary B.S. Dutsin-Ma to stop acting on the committee’s or government’s behalf regarding related matters.
