Peter Obi has dismissed speculation of a 2027 joint presidential ticket with Atiku Abubakar, declaring he’s focused on rebuilding Nigeria, not political alliances.
Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has ruled out any joint ticket with former vice president Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 election.
Speaking in a Twitter Space on Sunday, Obi said, “I have not joined in any form of discussion on joint tickets including with Atiku.” He insisted he would only support a coalition focused on ending insecurity, reviving the economy, and improving Nigerians’ welfare.
“I will bring stability to Nigeria within two years in office,” he added, reaffirming his readiness to serve a single term if elected.
Obi also criticised President Tinubu’s 10-day visit to St Lucia, saying, “In two years, Tinubu has not spent one night in any Nigerian state outside Lagos.”
He outlined his top priorities: security, education, poverty eradication, and anti-corruption reforms.
“We’ll do things differently in 2027,” he said. “Our votes will count.”
Obi called on Nigerians to support his renewed push, vowing never to allow his family to be involved in corruption.
