Ochonogor Barred from Commonwealth Games
Nigeria’s Long Jump Entry Rejected by Organisers
Prestina Ochonogor, Nigeria’s national long jump champion, is out of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Organisers rejected Nigeria’s bid to add her after Ese Brume withdrew, citing strict entry list rules. “Countries are not allowed to add more athletes…only one athlete was entered originally,” stated Games’ Technical Delegate Chris Cohen. Nigeria had hoped to field both Ochonogor and Ruth Usoro.
