Chad announced Monday its plan to withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC), becoming the fifth nation recently to do so. Citing “disproportionate targeting of Africa for prosecution” and “undeniable selectivity,” its foreign ministry notified the UN secretary-general. This follows similar exits by Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, and Venezuela, which also alleged geographical bias, focusing on African and Latin American countries.
