The Nigeria Union of Private Cab Operators (NUPCO) has issued a stark warning of an impending crisis within the aviation sector. President Adeola Adepegba cited policies by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) as detrimental to the livelihoods of airport taxi operators, potentially leading to widespread displacement.
Adepegba highlighted FAAN’s push for an app-based system without consultation and the controversial increase in airport pickup tariffs as major grievances. The union leader urged government intervention to prevent these ‘anti-worker actions’ and preserve jobs.
