The Senate Committee on Public Accounts has ordered the immediate arrest of former NNPCL boss, Mele Kyari, over alleged N210 trillion audit discrepancies recorded between 2017 and 2023.
According to Peoples Gazette, committee chairman Ibrahim Dankwambo gave the order after Kyari failed to appear before lawmakers despite repeated invitations.
Adams Oshiomhole did not hold back, accusing NNPC of having a reputation for fraud and calling it “a house of thieves.” He said the law must catch “the lion,” not just “the rabbit.”
Some senators pleaded that Kyari was sick and receiving treatment abroad, but the committee dismissed the excuse, insisting he must appear and provide evidence.
Former NNPCL chief financial officer Umar Isa denied that N210 trillion was missing.
