Human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju has urged INEC to learn from the Nigerian Bar Association’s ongoing electronic election, calling it proof that credible e-voting is possible in Nigeria.

Adeyanju made the remarks after casting his vote in the NBA poll, praising the Electoral Committee (ECNBA) for a seamless and transparent process, according to The Nation Newspaper. He said registration, verification and voting took him less than two minutes, thanks to a system using lawyers’ Supreme Court enrolment numbers and One-Time Password verification.
Adeyanju argued the exercise proves electronic voting can work nationwide with the right technology and safeguards, urging INEC to closely observe the process. He also expressed hope that INEC’s Chairman, a law professor and SAN, would personally witness the NBA election’s electronic voting system in action.
