Peter Obi has declared that the 2027 general election will be a contest between Nigerians and President Bola Tinubu’s administration, reiterating his claim that the 2023 election was rigged against him.

The former Anambra governor and Nigerian Democratic Congress presidential candidate made the remarks in a video circulating online, according to The Sun Nigeria. Obi maintained he won the 2023 election but that the outcome was manipulated, adding that Nigerians have “had enough” and are determined for change. He pointed to a leadership deficit as the country’s core problem and said his ambition isn’t personal but aimed at creating a Nigeria where “a child of a nobody can be anybody.” Obi insisted the decision now rests with Nigerians, who he believes have learnt their lessons.
