Atiku Abubakar’s camp has denied Fayose’s claims that a Minna meeting with Makinde involved negotiations over a 2027 vice-presidential slot.
The camp of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has dismissed claims by former Ekiti State Governor Peter Ayodele Fayose that Atiku and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde discussed a 2027 vice-presidential slot during a visit to Ibrahim Babangida in Minna.
Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, described the allegation as a “reckless and malicious fabrication,” insisting: “At no time did former Vice President Atiku Abubakar engage in the imaginary horse-trading described in that laughable script.” He added, “There were no negotiations over vice-presidential tickets… and there is certainly no clandestine ‘Dubai meeting’ on any such agenda.”
