Lagos State Police have ruled out terrorism after an explosion rocked the Shoe Materials Market in Mushin, leaving one person injured.
Spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed to Premium Times that preliminary investigations found no link between the blast and any terrorist group or coordinated attack.
The explosion triggered widespread panic among traders and residents, with property damaged in the surrounding area. Explosive ordnance experts were swiftly deployed to the scene and conducted a thorough sweep of the entire vicinity.
Reassuringly, no additional devices were discovered during the search. Police have urged residents to stay calm and go about their daily lives without fear while investigations remain ongoing.
Authorities say they are leaving no stone unturned. Nothing to see here, Lagos but they’re staying on it.
