HYPREP has successfully remediated 17 contaminated sites in Ogoniland, Niger Delta, announced project coordinator Professor Nenibarini Zabbey. A major donor and diplomatic engagement is planned for May 26, 2026, to boost environmental restoration and sustainable livelihoods.
Zabbey stated remediation occurs in phases, with 17 ‘simple sites’ fully cleaned. Another 13 sites achieved acceptable contaminant levels through natural attenuation, verified by NOSDRA.
