Ex-Ondo governor Mimiko defects to APC

Former Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko has officially joined the APC months after resigning from the PDP, marking a major political development in the state.

Former Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko has officially joined the All Progressives Congress.

Mimiko was received at the APC secretariat in Ondo West Local Government Area by the party’s state chairman, Babatunde Kolawole, alongside the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji.

The former governor resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party in April, sparking speculation over his next political destination.

Mimiko governed Ondo State from 2009 to 2017 and was previously a leading figure in the Labour Party before moving to the PDP, where he held key positions at both state and national levels.

His defection to the APC is regarded as a significant political development in Ondo State due to his strong grassroots influence and political relevance in the state.
