Gunmen invade Oyo school, shoot teacher, abduct principal and students

Suspected gunmen have invaded a secondary school in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, shooting a teacher and abducting the school principal and an unspecified number of students.

According to Blueprint, suspected gunmen stormed Community High School in Ahoro-Esinele, Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State on Friday morning, shooting a teacher and abducting the school principal alongside an unspecified number of students.

Blueprint gathered that the attack occurred between 8am and 9am, with the principal, identified as Mrs Rachael Alamu, driven out of the school in her own car before escaping into a neighbouring forest reserve.

A reliable police source told Blueprint that the Oyo State Commissioner of Police was heading to Ahoro-Esinele with his team to assess the situation.

Blueprint noted that insecurity has heightened in Oyo State recently, with victims being killed and kidnapped across parts of the state.
