Ekiti Governor Biodun Oyebanji secured a commanding win at Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele’s polling unit, far outpacing his PDP and ADP rivals.
Story:
It’s looking good early for the incumbent. Governor Biodun Oyebanji posted a dominant result at the polling unit of Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele in Saturday’s Ekiti governorship election.
According to The Guardian Nigeria, Presiding Officer Elizabeth Oregbemeh announced that Oyebanji polled 164 votes, leaving PDP’s Wole Oluyede trailing with just eight. ADP’s Ayodeji Ojo managed a single vote.
It’s a small but telling sign of momentum for the governor as counting continues statewide.
Earlier, Bamidele praised the election’s conduct, commending voter turnout and INEC’s prompt deployment of officials and materials across Ekiti’s 16 local government areas. INEC says over a million voters collected their PVCs ahead of the poll.
