An Oyo High Court has barred Kemi Alao-Akala from selling the late ex-governor’s properties amid an ongoing legal dispute over his estate.
An Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan has restrained Kemi Alao-Akala from selling or disposing of properties belonging to the late Adebayo Alao-Akala pending the determination of a substantive suit over his estate. The order followed a motion filed by Oluwatoyin Alao Aderinto, who is challenging the administration of the assets.
The court ruled that the defendants, including Kemi Alao-Akala and co-administrator Olamide Alabi, must not engage in any transactions involving the estate until the case is resolved. The claimant alleged that some properties had already been sold without her consent and warned that continued disposal could harm her legal interest.
The court also ordered an accelerated hearing of the case and adjourned proceedings to April 16, 2026, to rule on a separate application seeking DNA testing among family members involved in the dispute.
