Bangladesh President Mohammed Shahabuddin has resigned, citing ill health. In a letter to the speaker of parliament, he stated that worsening physical and mental incapacity made it impossible to continue in his constitutional role. Shahabuddin, elected in 2023, confirmed his resignation to AFP, ending speculation about his early departure before his term ends in 2028.
