Anthony Joshua will return to boxing on July 25 in Saudi Arabia to face Kristian Prenga in his first fight since a fatal car crash in Nigeria.
Anthony Joshua is set to make his highly anticipated return to the ring against Albania’s Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, marking his first bout since a tragic December car accident in Nigeria that claimed the lives of his close friends Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele.
Following the signing of a new multi-fight deal, the 36-year-old former champion stated, “It’s no secret I’ve taken some time to consolidate and rebuild to be ready for stepping back into the ring, and today is the next step on that journey… the landlord will collect his rent. That is certain.” While Prenga has vowed to “derail their plans and shock the world,” Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, confirmed that a massive showdown with Tyson Fury is already “signed, sealed and delivered” for later this year, provided Joshua moves past Prenga.
