NEC Approves N83.2 Billion for Flooding and Climate Emergencies

Nigeria’s National Economic Council (NEC) has allocated N83.2 billion to combat anticipated flooding and climate emergencies. Vice President Kashim Shettima emphasized proactive measures, stressing the need for tangible benefits for citizens. The funds will support the Anticipatory Action Task Force (AATF) in addressing disasters before they occur, a crucial move given recent severe flood impacts and grim forecasts from NiMet and NIHSA.
