Floyd Mayweather faces criminal charges in Clark County for allegedly issuing a bounced $200,000 cheque to buy an Audemars Piguet watch from a Las Vegas boutique in 2024.
Even champions bounce cheques, apparently. Floyd Mayweather is facing criminal charges after allegedly writing a $200,000 cheque that bounced — and never made good on it — to buy a luxury Audemars Piguet watch from a Las Vegas store back in 2024.
According to People Gazette, Clark County prosecutors have filed a complaint accusing him of theft and passing a fraudulent cheque, and a court order now compels him to appear before a judge.
The boutique reportedly tried to settle things quietly with a demand letter, but Mayweather allegedly ignored it, forcing the issue into court a year later. If convicted, he could face up to four years for the cheque charge, or as much as 20 years on the felony theft count.
