Abuja court orders deregistration of ADC, Accord Party, others ahead of 2027

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered INEC to deregister the ADC, Accord Party and three other political parties, effectively shutting out Atiku Abubakar and Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke from the 2027 elections.

Big political earthquake in Abuja. Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court has ordered INEC to immediately deregister the ADC, Accord Party, Action Alliance, APP and Zenith Labour Party over alleged constitutional breaches. The fallout is massive — former Vice President Atiku Abubakar instantly loses his 2027 presidential platform, while Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke is knocked out of August’s governorship race. The suit was filed by the Incorporated Trustees of the National Forum of Former Legislators.

Daily Post Nigeria reports that the judgment was delivered on Monday, sending shockwaves through Nigeria’s political landscape ahead of 2027.
