The Zamfara State police command has successfully rescued three travellers abducted by armed bandits along the Gurusu–Anka road. The operation, confirmed by spokesperson Yazid Abubakar, took place on June 13, 2026. Following a report of the abduction of individuals traveling from Bukuyum to Talata Mafara, police operatives engaged the bandits in a gun duel, forcing them to flee. The victims were recovered unharmed, though the bandits escaped with a stolen phone.
