An Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) investigator revealed in court how former Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika allegedly disguised an Ethiopian Airlines aircraft as Nigeria’s national carrier. The aircraft, loaned for just three days in May 2023, was returned to Ethiopia after being presented as Nigeria Air.
The contract for this was awarded to Tanaero Nigeria Limited (TNL), a company linked to Sirika’s friend. The EFCC is prosecuting Sirika and others on multiple counts, including contract fraud totaling N2.8 billion.
Allegations Unfold:
Witness Christopher Odofin detailed how an Ethiopian Airlines plane was used for a brief static display.
Contract Awarded:
TNL, owned by Sirika’s associate, received the contract.
