Police have rescued Mrs Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the sister of former Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu, and her 12-year-old twin sons after a tense operation in Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to Punch Newspapers, the victims were freed during a late-night tactical raid that turned deadly for the kidnappers.
Security sources said two suspects were killed in a gun duel with operatives, while firearms were recovered from the scene. The rescue followed sustained intelligence tracking that forced the gang into confrontation.
The family had been abducted earlier while heading out in the morning. Police say operations are ongoing to track fleeing members of the kidnapping syndicate.
