Paris Saint-Germain retained their UEFA Champions League crown after edging Arsenal 4-3 on penalties following a tense 1-1 draw in Budapest. Arsenal got off to the perfect start when Kai Havertz fired the Gunners ahead inside six minutes, putting their first-ever Champions League title within reach. But PSG refused to fold.
Ousmane Dembele brought the French giants level from the penalty spot midway through the second half after a foul on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. With neither side able to find a winner in extra time, the final went to penalties.
As reported by BBC Sport, Arsenal’s hopes were crushed when Gabriel blasted the decisive spot-kick over the bar, handing PSG back-to-back European titles.
