Former Minister of Transportation and ex-Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has rejected the outcome of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primaries, alleging widespread voter disenfranchisement across the country. According to Punch, Amaechi described the results being announced as “concocted,” insisting he would only accept an outcome that was free, fair, and transparent.
The presidential hopeful claimed many party members were unable to participate in the exercise and argued that the process fell short of democratic standards. His rejection adds fresh drama to the ADC’s race for its 2027 presidential ticket, which has already generated intense competition among leading aspirants.
With tensions rising, attention is now on the party’s leadership and how it responds to the growing controversy.
