According to Tribune Online, human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has emerged as the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. He secured the ticket during the party’s primary election held in Abuja, receiving unanimous support from delegates and party leaders. Sowore, who previously contested under the same platform, accepted the nomination with a pledge to intensify efforts against corruption, insecurity, poor governance, and economic hardship in Nigeria.
The party described its mission as building a “new Nigeria,” with Sowore reaffirming its ideological commitment. His emergence formally positions AAC in the early lineup of opposition contenders as political activities build momentum toward 2027, according to Tribune Online.
