The APC has disqualified 47 senatorial aspirants, including former senator Ben Murray-Bruce, from participating in its 2027 Senate primary elections following the party’s screening exercise.

The All Progressives Congress has disqualified 47 senatorial aspirants from participating in its Senate primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The party disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, following the conclusion of its screening exercise nationwide.

According to the statement, “The screening exercise was conducted by the Party’s Screening Committees in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.”

Among the prominent aspirants denied clearance was former Bayelsa East senator, Ben Murray-Bruce, alongside Benson Agadaga, who also sought to contest the district’s ticket.

Rivers West recorded the highest number of disqualified aspirants, including Oyukaye Flag Amachree, Tamunobaabo Wemike Danagogo, Jack-Rich Tein and Banigo Ipalibo.

Zamfara also had seven aspirants across its senatorial districts fail the screening process.

The APC, however, did not provide reasons for the disqualification of the affected aspirants.
