There was tension at a building site in Ado-Ekiti after a labourer allegedly threatened violence during a heated confrontation with his employer over comments relating to Prophet Muhammad. In a video seen by SaharaReporters, the Hausa-speaking labourer was seen making disturbing remarks while arguing with his boss at the construction site.
The incident reportedly occurred after the employer questioned the labourer over statements he allegedly made about defending Prophet Muhammad against insults. During the confrontation, the employer repeatedly asked whether the labourer was truly prepared to kill someone over insults directed at the Prophet. Responding angrily, the labourer said, “That Anabi that you are calling, I will kill you now now (That prophet you are calling, I will kill you immediately).”
Shocked by the response, the employer replied, “You go kill me? You no go go house today. I go carry you go police station now now. So you can kill person because of Anabi Muhammad abi? Don’t come here again. I will not give you work again.” The argument later escalated further after the employer ordered the labourer to remove his cap, revealing dreadlocks underneath, before questioning whether he believed he could follow Prophet Muhammad and still gain paradise with such appearance.
