Bala Mohammed resigns from PDP, joins APM

Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed has left the PDP for the APM, citing stability and ending speculation over his political future.

The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party and officially joined the Allied Peoples Movement. He announced the move during a stakeholders’ meeting, where he was presented with the party’s membership card, constitution, and flag.

Mohammed said his decision followed wide consultations, describing the APM as a stable political platform free from internal legal disputes. He, however, expressed appreciation to the PDP for providing him the opportunity to serve and contribute to national development.

The defection ends weeks of speculation over his political future amid the PDP’s leadership crisis. Earlier reports suggested he might join other parties, including the APC or ADC, as political realignments intensify ahead of future elections.
