Adeboye reacts to calls to strip Tinubu’s wife of pastor title

Enoch Adejare Adeboye has affirmed that Oluremi Tinubu will remain an ordained pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God despite calls for her removal.

Enoch Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has said Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, will retain her status as an ordained pastor in the church. Speaking during the monthly Holy Ghost Service, Adeboye stated that her ordination followed due process and predates her husband’s rise as a presidential contender.

According to the cleric, Mrs Tinubu was ordained as an Assistant Pastor more than a decade ago and has remained in good standing within the church. He stressed that she has not breached any of the church’s doctrines or regulations, dismissing concerns raised in some quarters over her continued role.

Adeboye also rejected calls for her removal, insisting the church would not succumb to external pressure on internal matters. He maintained that decisions regarding ordination and pastoral status are guided strictly by the church’s established principles and procedures.
