President Bola Tinubu says insecurity will not push him out of office as he confirms plans to seek re-election in 2027.
President Bola Tinubu has declared his intention to seek a second term in office, insisting that ongoing insecurity across parts of Nigeria will not force him out of power. He made the statement while receiving Caleb Mutfwang and other stakeholders from Plateau State.
Tinubu said attempts to use insecurity against his administration were playing into the hands of political opponents and hostile actors. Describing himself as resolute, the president stated that he remains determined to stay in office and will actively campaign for re-election despite mounting criticism.
His remarks come amid rising concerns over killings, kidnappings, and attacks in several parts of the country. While opposition figures and civil society groups continue to demand stronger action, Tinubu maintained that his government is supporting security agencies to restore stability nationwide ahead of the 2027 elections.
